I know how that sounds. Aspen is the place where you check the price of a burger, put on your reading glasses, check it again, and quietly order the side salad. It is the town where "casual" still costs you a car payment. So when I tell you that the most expensive dining rooms in Colorado are about to be within reach for regular people, I understand if you want to see it in writing.
Here it is in writing.
The Aspen Chamber Resort Association is rolling out the first ever Aspen Restaurant Week Autumn, running Monday, September 21 through Sunday, September 27, 2026. It is presented by ACRA in partnership with the local restaurant community, and more than two dozen restaurants are in on it.
Here is the part that matters. Every participating spot is putting out a specially priced, multicourse prix fixe menu at one of three tiers. $45, $75, or $95. That is the whole game. You pick your budget, you pick your restaurant, and for one week the number on the menu is not designed to make you flinch.
ACRA Vice President of Business Development Sarah Reynolds Lasser put the point of it plainly. The event, she said, is meant to give locals and visitors a fresh reason to try restaurants they haven't visited yet as fall begins. Which is a nice way of saying: the rooms you always walk past because the door alone feels expensive are opening the front door and turning on the porch light.
Take PARC Aspen, which is locally owned. They are running two options. A $45 bar prix fixe menu, and a $75 dinner menu built around Colorado's fall harvest. Read that second one again. Fall harvest, in Aspen, in the fall, for $75. That is not a typo and it is not a tourist trap. That is a real dinner at a real price.
Restaurant weeks happen everywhere. What makes this one worth your attention is when they scheduled it.
303 Magazine points out that fall foliage is expected to be at or near its seasonal peak that same weekend, and they are calling it one of the best weekends of the year to experience Aspen beyond ski season. Colorado's fall season officially begins at the autumn equinox on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, which lands smack in the middle of the week.
So do the math on this. The aspens turn gold. The restaurants drop their prices. Both happen in the same seven days. That almost never lines up. Peak gold usually means peak crowds and peak everything else, and here it is stapled to $45 dinners instead.

It means the good tables are going to move fast, so if you are the type to decide on Thursday for a Saturday, adjust your expectations.

If you want the full weekend with the fashion crowd and the parties, aim for that September 24 to 27 stretch and book early. If you want the colors and the quiet and the best shot at a table, go earlier in the week. Monday through Wednesday, before the fashion crowd rolls in and before the equinox weekend fills up. A week like this is exactly the kind of thing that reminds you these mountain towns are not only for the people who own the second homes. The valley runs on locals, on the people cooking the food and pouring the wine, and events like this are partly aimed at them too. If you have ever wondered what living within striking distance of this actually feels like, a weekend where the town shows you its good side for $45 is not a bad way to find out.
