Two hours. That is the whole ballgame. No nine innings, no rain delays, no watching some reliever walk three guys in a row while you check your phone. The Savannah Bananas run a clock, and when it hits zero, it is over.
That is coming to Coors Field in August 2026, and it is just the front edge of one of the most stacked weekends the Front Range has put together in a while. You have got a stadium spectacle downtown, two sold-out nights at Red Rocks, a free art fair in Golden and a beer fest up north, all within a short drive. Most people wait for one of these and build a weekend around it. This year you do not have to choose. Here is the plan.
Aug. 14 and 15, 2026. Coors Field, 2001 Blake St., Denver.
This is the barnstorming crew's first-ever Denver stop, and they are bringing two nights against the Indianapolis Clowns. If you have somehow missed the Bananas machine on the internet, here is the short version. It is baseball rewritten so that it never gets boring.
Banana Ball runs on a two-hour time limit. Games are won on points, not runs, so every inning actually matters. And this is my favorite part. If a fan catches a foul ball in the stands, it counts as an out. So you are not just sitting there. You are in the game whether you want to be or not.
Here is the part people miss on the scheduling. The Rockies are on the road at San Francisco Aug. 14 through 16, which is exactly why Coors Field was open for this booking. The timing lines up perfectly, and it is the reason the Bananas could grab a downtown ballpark on a summer weekend instead of some fairground out in the sticks.
Aug. 15 and 16, 2026. Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison.
Two nights. And if you know Red Rocks, you know two nights means the demand was real.
LCD Soundsystem is the kind of band Red Rocks was basically built for. All that James Murphy dance-punk sound bouncing off 300 feet of red sandstone at a 9,450-seat venue about 15 miles from downtown. The openers are no throwaways either. You get Feist and Victoryland warming things up before the main set.
Look, Red Rocks in August with the right band is one of those nights you talk about for years. Hayley and I have done enough of these to say it plainly. Get there early, watch the sun drop behind the formations, do not be the person still hiking up the stairs when the first song hits.
Aug. 15 and 16, 2026, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Parfet Park, downtown Golden. Free.
This is your daytime move, and it costs nothing to walk in.
The Golden Fine Arts Festival has been running for 36 years, so this is not some pop-up. More than 100 juried artists set up in Parfet Park right in the middle of downtown Golden, with beer and wine gardens and food vendors filling in the gaps. Juried is the key word. Somebody actually screened this work, so you are not wading through card tables of the same mass-produced stuff you see at every summer fair.
Parking in downtown Golden is its own contact sport, so here is the smart play. The Golden DDA pays for a free shuttle running from the Jefferson County Health and Human Services building at 900 Jefferson County Parkway. Park there, ride in, skip the circling. That one is free money.
Golden real estate has been climbing for years on exactly this kind of thing, by the way. Walkable downtown, Clear Creek running through it, festivals like this all summer. It is not an accident people pay a premium to live within walking distance of Parfet Park.
Aug. 15, 2026, afternoon. Trail Winds Park, Thornton. Ticketed.
If your crew leans more beer garden than art fair, this is the north-metro answer.
The City of Thornton puts on its Barrel & Beer Festival at Trail Winds Park, a ticketed afternoon built around Colorado breweries. This is the one for the folks who live up I-25 and do not feel like fighting downtown traffic all weekend. Good beer, local, close to home, done by evening so you can still make a show.
And here is where the weekend gets almost unfair, because the shows do not stop at LCD Soundsystem.
Mt. Joy plays Fiddlers Green Amphitheatre at 6350 Greenwood Plaza Blvd. in Englewood on Aug. 15, with Arcy Drive opening. That same band had already played Red Rocks Aug. 13 and 14, so if you missed them on the rocks, Fiddlers Green is your make-up date.
Colorado's own Yonder Mountain String Band plays the Arvada Center's outdoor amphitheatre on Aug. 15. Jamgrass in Arvada on a summer night is about as Front Range as it gets.
Want free? New Orleans' Rebirth Brass Band plays Levitt Pavilion Denver on Aug. 14, no ticket required. Levitt is one of the best deals in the whole city and people still sleep on it.
And bookending the whole thing, Zach Bryan takes two stadium nights at Empower Field at Mile High on Aug. 13 and 14 on his With Heaven On Tour. So on the 14th you could have Bananas at Coors Field, Zach Bryan at Empower and Rebirth Brass Band at Levitt all happening at once inside the same city. That is a Wednesday-planner's nightmare and a fun-haver's dream.
Here is the thing. You cannot do all of it, and trying will just wreck you. So pick a lane.
Friday the 14th, my move is Bananas at Coors Field, then walk out into LoDo for a late dinner. Two-hour game means you are out by a reasonable hour, which almost never happens at a ballpark.
Saturday the 15th is the big fork. Daytime, drive up to Golden, park at the county building, shuttle into Parfet Park, wander the art fest with a beer from the garden. Then you have got a choice for the night. LCD Soundsystem at Red Rocks if you want the marquee, Mt. Joy at Fiddlers Green if the rocks sold out on you, or Yonder Mountain in Arvada if you want something looser and closer to a lot of the north metro.
Sunday the 16th you close it out easy. LCD Soundsystem night two at Red Rocks if you did not get Saturday, or just sleep in and hit the Golden festival before it wraps at 5.
That is a full Radically Colorado adventure without ever driving more than half an hour in any direction. Buckle up, hydrate, and for the love of everything, take the Golden shuttle. Your Saturday self will thank you.
